Spool Suture Copramid

Copramid (supramid) is a non-absorbable, braided sterile suture material for surgical applications made from long-chain aliphatic polymers (nylon 6 or nylon 6/6), pseudo-monofilament. Copramid (supramid) monofilament threads are white (undyed). Properties: Even thread thickness Maximum flexibility of the thread Excellent, reliable knot security Minimal memory effect Indications: The Copramid material is indicated for the general approximation or ligation of soft tissue parts, for example in cardiovascular, neurological or ophthalmological operations. Contraindications: Because of the risk of a gradual loss of tensile strength, use of Supramid surgical sutures should be avoided if this loss is undesirable. Tensile strenght: The Copramid threads are not absorbed; however, progressive hydrolysis of the material can occur in vivo, which leads to a gradual loss of tensile strength. Therefore, this material should not be used if permanent tensile strength is required.
