Spool Suture Chromic Catgut

Chromkatgut is a sterile, surgical absorbable thread made from purified connective tissue (predominantly collagen) from the serosa of bovine or the submucosal fiber layer of sheep intestine. It is supplied in a solution of 89% isopropanol, 10% water and 1% triethanolamine. Chromium fiber is treated with a chromium salt solution. Properties: The nylon material has the following properties: • The purity of collagen for ultimate tensile strength and in vivo performance. • Uniform treatment with buffered chromium salt solution. • High surface smoothness for knot security and strength. Indications: Chromium catgut is indicated for use in the general approximation or ligation of soft tissue parts, for example in ophthalmological operations. Not suitable for cardiovascular or neurological interventions. Contraindications: The material is contraindicated in patients with a known sensitivity or allergy to any of the ingredients used. This absorbable suture should not be used if long-term tissue approximation is required. Chromium fibers are not suitable for cardiovascular or neurological interventions. Tensile strenght: The loss of tensile strength depends on various influencing factors such as: • Type of seam • The presence of infections • Localization Absorption: Chromium catgut is broken down by an enzymatic process analogous to the digestion of animal proteins by the body. Since it is an enzymatic process, different factors come into play (see above). It is practically impossible to give an absorption time that is correct in every case.
