Dermatophyte test, DTM, petri dish. Dermatomycoses are common clinical infections of dogs, cats, cows, horses and other animals. The causal dermatophytes are mycelial fungi, which possess keratolytic properties that allow them to invade skin, nails and hair. The fungal culture test consists of vials with a slant medium inside, of which the cap can be removed allowing inoculation and collection of samples for identification. ChroMyco® Fungal Culture Test contains Dermatophyte Test Medium (DTM) and is designed to diagnose the most relevant veterinary pathogenic fungi called dermatophyte: Microsporum, Trichophyton and Epidermophyton spp.
